In The Netherlands newborn babies and their mothers are often overloaded with gifts. They can wear a new set of clothes and sleep with a new stuffed animal everyday. On the other hand, mothers in developing countries worry if they can provide in their babies’ basic needs. While expecting her first baby, Mandy Ladan came up with the concept of MommaLuv. MommaLuv is a non-profit organisation that connects mothers to be in The Netherlands with future moms in developing countries. Instead of gifts, Dutch moms ask their family and friends to donate to a mom and baby in a developing country. The concept proved to be very successful: after 8 years almost 2.000 moms and babies in over more than 14 developing countries have been supported.

In order to further MommaLuv’s reach, Mandy asked Poet Farmer to design and develop a new website. We developed a WordPress website with a fresh design, that clearly reflects MommaLuv’s identity. Instead of having to manually wire transfer a donation, the new website allows MommaLuv to set up personal landing pages for the participants. On these personal landing pages family and friends can donate directly with iDeal. A lot easier for the user, and way less paperwork for MommaLuv. A built-in webshop offers people who want to donate a package the opportunity to do so.
